Castleford Bridge
Multi-award winning 130m footbridge creating new public spaces as the first phase of our Castleford Bay waterfront regeneration Masterplan. Design and construction process featured in Channel 4 TV documentary with Kevin McCloud.
Design chosen & championed by the community with wide stakeholder consultation. A regeneration catalyst focused on the River Aire, the town’s most under-used natural asset, improving public access and enjoyment. Wider riverside masterplan includes ‘string of pearls’ boardwalk/path and lighting around the Bay to encourage further regeneration.
